About the show
Miss Dominique TRIBUTE TO THE QUEEN Ella FITZGERALD
"Someone to Watch Over Me"
On the stage of “À la recherche de la nouvelle star” broadcast on M6,
Miss Dominique was a finalist against Christophe WILLEM in 2006, performing
"Ella, elle l’a" by Michel BERGER
in the eyes of Marianne JAMES.
After the tribute from singer France GALL,
it is now Miss Dominique in the role of Ella FITZGERALD.
Following a Gold record, a Victoire de la Musique award, and a SACEM prize,
she released two more albums, completed musical studies, and raised three children.
In her brand-new show “Someone to Watch Over Me”,
Miss Dominique returns today to compete, facing none other than
"the Queen of Jazz", Ella FITZGERALD,
accompanied by her pianist.
Miss Dominique performs in a stripped-down vocal style,
on the original tones, without artifice, a repertoire of songs collaborated on by the greatest masters of soul music, such as:
Louis ARMSTRONG, Duke ELLINGTON, Oscar PETERSON,
Count BASIE, Nat KING COLE, George GERSHWIN, and Frank SINATRA.
After her successful interpretations of
Whitney HOUSTON, Tina TURNER, and James BROWN,
one evening Miss Dominique won her way into our homes.
We all cried listening to
"Calling You" from the movie Bagdad Café.
Come experience the thrill again today and rediscover, 20 years later,
this artist who continues to write, together with her audience,
the story of a resilient woman…
